St Marys Sexual Assault Referral Centre

Saint Mary’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) provides a comprehensive and co-ordinated forensic, counselling and aftercare service to men, women and children living in the Greater Manchester and Cheshire area who have experienced rape or sexual assault, whether this has happened recently or in the past. The centre can also support you if and when you want to speak to the police.

THE HATHERSAGE CENTRE (HUB)

The Hathersage Centre is part of "The Northern Contraception, Sexual Health and HIV Service". They provide integrated sexual and reproductive health related services, including the testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, contraception and emergency contraception.

This centre offers walk-in services only, not appointments. Some centres in other parts of the city do offer appointments.

Manchester Royal Infirmary (MRI) A&E

MRI is the biggest hospital site in Central Manchester. The Accident and Emergency department (A&E) is for patients requiring emergency care for serious and life-threatening conditions. In case of an emergency this is the place you should go. No appointment is required. If you cannot get to the hospital yourself due to an injury or illness, call 999 for an ambulance.

The A&E department only treats serious injuries or illnesses. For other general health problems, either go to the Manchester Royal Infirmary Walk-In Centre located just beside the A&E department or make an appointment to see your GP.

Manchester Royal Infirmary Walk-In

Manchester Royal Infirmary has one of only three walk-in centres located in Manchester. The Walk-In Centre provide immediate health treatment free of charge and without the need to book an appointment. If you are not yet registered with a GP, this is the place that you should go for urgent but non-life threatening conditions.

If you live close to the MMU campus or University of Manchester south campus, this is the closest walk-in centre available to you.

City Health Centre Walk-In

The City Health Centre walk-in offers primary care services to registered patients living within the catchment area as well as non-registered patients visiting, living in, or working in the area. Patients can access the walk-in service without an appointment. The building is easily accessible, and can be walked into at the available times. The walk-in service is for non-life threatening conditions, where immediate health treatment is required. In the event of a serious injury go to your nearest A&E department.
