CANNONS AIM AT THE ENTRY OF THE BAY TO OLD TOWN NASSAU.
Fort Charlotte is a British-colonial era fort built on a hill over-looking the harbor of Nassau, The Bahamas. The fort sits a short walk west of downtown Nassau and the cruise ship terminal. The fort was constructed in the late 18th century by British colonial governor Lord Dunmore after the end of the American Revolutionary war. The fort has never been used in battle. It is one of several English forts that are still standing in Nassau. These forts were used as battle stations, to attack the invading Spaniards.
ARDRASTA ZOO
COMMENTS FROM PREVIOUS VISITORS:
Absolutely loved this place. Was such a natural setting for the animals. Loved how it wasn't crowded with people. You could walk right up to the flamingos and peacocks. We also enjoyed feeding the beautiful Lory birds apples. One of the highlights of our trip!!
We absolutely enjoyed Ardastra Gardens when we were in Nassau. Loved the Flamingo show and them walking around among the peacocks! Many birds and other animals to see. Feeding the Parrots were something I've never done and I enjoyed it very much. Highly recommend going to if you're in Nassau.
In the afternoon after site seeing landmarks you may want to stop at Junkanoo Beach on the way back and enjoy a little beach time.
