Tour Overview
Discover the surprising architecture of Huelva.
Often overlooked by visitors to Andalusia, Huelva is a city in transition. Once dominated by mining and heavy industry, it is reinventing itself as an attractive waterfront city where history, architecture and urban renewal come together.
This self-guided walking tour takes you from elegant eighteenth-century palacios and the British-inspired Reina Victoriagarden suburb (1916) to remarkable examples of Modernismo, Rationalism and bold Brutalist architecture from the 1970s and 1980s. Along the way you'll explore the historic centre, the lively market district and the transformed waterfront with the iconic Muelle de Riotinto.
Large redevelopment projects are reshaping the riverfront, making Huelva one of the most interesting emerging cities in southern Spain.
A walk in 41 projects full of unexpected architecture, fascinating history and a city looking confidently towards the future. Starting at the old harbour.
