If you are a lover of Architecture, Design and Sunshine, this tour is for you ! This is a an architecture walking tour guide of Faro, the south end city of Algarve - Portugal. Faro is the most Modernist city in Southern Europe with 500 buildings !

• Thank you for downloading this App. This tour aims to help you discovering the Modern architecture heritage of Faro. This selection is mostly made of secret places and hidden gems located in non touristy areas. So this is a singular opportunity to explore the city as a local !

• Faro is probably the most modernist city in Southern Europe, it counts today about 500 existing buildings. Faro has a large diversity of architectural heritage. Most of the City has been built between 1920 and 1980, those constructions are considered Modern Architecture. Among Modern Architecture, 2 styles are characteristics of Faro : Art Deco mostly in the south of the city and South Modern mostly in North East. Modern architecture buildings are not exclusive to the examples mentioned in this map, there are many more buildings worth exploring !

• The buildings are unfortunately not in the best conservation conditions (sometimes almost abandoned) and the interest for Modern Architecture is new. So please be aware of that before you start. Anyway this hidden architecture gem is a real heritage we are proud to share with you !
